Secretary of Education

My musician husband has traveled all over the world and met quite a few famous people. He has a photo of himself with M. Emmet Walsh (Blood Simple).

Through the years he's also met, among others: Jon Voight, Robert Duvall, Joel Grey, Dom Deluise, Leslie Nielsen, George Lindsey (Goober), Herve Villechaize (Fantasy Island), Grandpa Jones and Roy Clark (Hee Haw), Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Leann Rimes, and a few of the Dixie Chicks.

But I wasn't really impressed until a few months ago when he called from a gig: "The Secretary of Education is here."

If you've seen Mike Judge's Idiocracy you'll remember the Secretary of Education as the armed, mute presidential cabinet member.The Secretary was played by Texas resident Danny Cochran, who also happens to be a drummer.

At my somewhat insistent suggestion, my husband asked if he'd mind being photographed.

Now, that is cool.
